International Boot Camp: Day 1

The first day of the International Intrapreneurship BootCamp is over. A great day that started with rise and shine at 5:10 and then I had my 20K biking at 5:30. Followed by a good breakfast I met all the other candidates of the works shop at 9:00 sharp at the SSES office where we were able to mingle a bit until the first speaker gave his talk.

I feel privileged to be part of this amazingly talented group of people from all over the world; Sweden, USA, Finland, England, Iran, Spain, Taiwan, Canada and China. It’s a highly dynamic group with a wide diversity, high ambitions and extreme creativity.

The tasks of today were simple, and the day was short as well (only 11 hours). Gregg Vanourek, the author of Life Entrepreneurs, set the pace with his inspirational talk about entre-and intrepreneurship. Then we listened to Ernst Nathorst-Böö, the CEO of Propellerheads (the same guy as interviewed me roughly month ago) talk about his view of intrapreneurship while having lunch. After lunch we did some exercises and self-analyses and in the afternoon we went for a visit to the IT company HCL. That was highly interesting where they have 80.000 people employed but still manage to be both transparent and personal in their internal relation. I loved also their approach to passionated work, and how much they believed in the human capital and their honest belief in how much more passionated work can provide compared to “just do the job”. I absolutely couldn’t agree more.

After long day we gathered all together at Anglais for afterwork -and boring me ate my home made sushi companied with water while everyone got glass of red or white -but definitely did not have less fun despite my healthy preferences.

So it’s a tired but happy and satisfied girl that goes to bed tonight excited to wake up at 05:10 again tomorrow morning for another long, effective and interesting day.
