Last night I ran Midnattsloppet.
As the lucky person I am I did not register for this race but showed up just before the race with an invitation from a friend who organizes it. So just an hour or so before the race I got the running kit, the t-shirt, an extra Nike training t-shirt and a VIP ticket to get some food and drinks after the race. I’m so grateful for this generous offer because this race was truly an amazing experience!
To make a long story short I did my PB. 51:41. And I found it quite easy, to be honest – I had a lot of energy left after the race. That I find super motivating and shows that I’m finally getting in some better condition.
But those are my stats:

My later 5K were better than my first 5K and my average pace was 5:11. The last km I ran on the pace 4:48 which was actually my fastest km. I ended nr. 731 of roughly 7000 women running which I find quite acceptable for my first 10K race since I got into this training period. Next time I will aim for 50 min, and hopefully within a year I will reach my goal of 45 min.
After the race I headed sweaty to a good-bye party of a friend here in Stockholm. And because I seem to have it marked on my forehead “please, come and talk to me and share your story of life” I ended up inviting some random Swedish runner guy I met in the tube, and who started chatting, with me to that party. Ohh, how I love random things.
